Dental Sealants - Cosmetic Dentist Services

At Double Bay Dental Studio we use the latest dental sealant materials to help protect back teeth from bacteria which cause tooth decay. These materials form a complete protective barrier by bonding to the surface of the tooth, and filling in the tooth’s natural grooves and fissures.

The effect of sealants last for many years, and they have been proven to prevent decay in children. From the very first years through to the adolescent period is when children are most prone to cavities, and sealants work most effectively when applied as early as possible to the permanent back teeth.

In this painless, quick procedure, a solution is applied to the surface of the tooth which is to be sealed; this helps the sealant bond more effectively with the natural tooth enamel. The sealant is then applied and allowed to harden using ultraviolet light. The entire procedure only takes a few minutes and is done in the comfort of our Dental Studio.
